Participate in National Poetry Month with a Blackout Poetry Kit from the Makerspace!

Have you tried a Makerspace To-Go Kit lately?   Ranging from Pom Pom Catapults to Gee's Bend Quilts to making an Itty Bitty Nature Book, ask at your library about what FREE Maker To-Go Kits are available.   To celebrate National Poetry Month the newest kits hitting the shelves now include a Blackout Poetry Kit!

Your libraries continue to offer 'Call Ahead for Pick Up': see below for how that service works.

Basically you can use your Mono County Library Card to go to our online catalog - in the Quick Links section to the right - to place a hold on an item, or you can contact your local library staff by phone or email during regular hours. Contact information for your location can be found in the BRANCHES menu above. Your local staff member will confirm with you by phone or email the expected date/time for you to pick up your item(s), check them out ahead of time, and arrange them for you to pick up at the library's entrance through a safe contactless handoff. When you're done with the item(s), simply return it in the library's exterior book drop to maintain the contactless handoff and we will clean and quarantine the time for 4 days before reshelving it. We will continue to waive overdue fines during this period.

Click here for a brief video tutorial for using the online catalog to search and place a hold on a title.

Remember we offer free-to-keep Maker Kits which can be picked up and we offer numerous online resources and virtual programs through the menu items above!

The libraries are not accepting book donations at this time, please do not place book donations in our book drops. Thank you for your patience and understanding. As our friends and neighbors, our library staff care about you and your well-being. We look forward to welcoming you back to our libraries when the COVID-19 situation has passed. In the meantime if you need a library card so you can access our ebook collection, see the 'Apply for a Library Card' link in the ABOUT menu above, and use the 'Contact' link to the right to reach out to us with the information.
