Services Available for Small Business

Do you have a small business? Would you like access to some free, helpful services? Do you want some free publicity? Come on by the Mammoth Lakes Library and see what we have to offer. Here are some of the services you'll find @ your library (R):

In-House: Small business events calendar, a wall of business cards, free Internet access, free meeting space, free teleconference services, free videoconference services, books, audiobooks (tape and CD).

Periodicals, Newspapers, Magazines: Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Mammoth Times, The Sheet, Money, SmartMoney, Kiplinger's, US News and World Report.

Remote Services (accessed from our website www.monocolibraries.org): EBSCO, AskNow reference service, RSD Business Suite coming soon, Reference USA coming soon. The EBSCO magazine database gives you free access (with your library card) to Forbes, Business Week, Business Loans & the SBA, Business Review, and more. AskNow is a service that combines the speed and convenience of the Internet with the information savvy of librarians. California residents were among the first in the nation to enjoy a live online reference service. That means you can go a library website, type in your question, "talk" to a librarian and get an answer while you wait.
Small Business Events: Speaker Series, Open House Mixer

In addition to offering useful services to small business, the library can help you find some really useful (or useless but fun) facts. For example, February is Vegetation Month, Potato Lover's Month, American History Month, American Music Month, National Cherry Month, Black History Month, Great American Pies Month and National Scottish Culture Month. Events to celebrate this week are National Cream Cheese Brownie Day on the 10th, White Shirt Day (Flint, Michigan) on the 11th, Great American Chocolate Festival and National Plum Pudding Day on the 12th, National Tortini Day on the 13th, Valentine's Day on the 14th, Flag Day (Canada) on the 15th, and National Almond Day on the 16th. In case that isn't enough trivia for you, read on.
