WIRELESS ACCESS NOW AVAILABLE!

Thanks to the financial support of the Mammoth Lakes Town Council and free broadband access from NPG Cable, the Mammoth Lakes Library is proud to offer wireless access @ your library (R). Anyone who has a laptop with wireless capability can come in and use this wonderful new resource! The Library also has four laptops available for use.

Want some free publicity? Sure, who doesn't! Come visit the Mammoth Lakes Library, talk to Nathan and leave your business card on the wall. Want to leave lots of them? Bring them in a small plastic holder that can be easily push-pinned onto our bulletin board. The Mono County Library recently received a grant to help serve the small business community. The funds, which are from the California State Library, will go toward books and other materials, as well as speaker's fees. Watch for more information in the near future and even a Small Business website page.

Have you looked at the Library's website recently? Sign on to monocolibraries.org and take a look. Not only can you check our catalog online, but you can renew and put books on hold. You'll even find "The Sheet" archived there.
There's a new art exhibit @ your library (R) courtesy of the fourth grade class. Be sure to stop by during the holidays and see it. The Library will be open during the holidays except for Friday, December 24, Saturday, December 25, Sunday, December 26, and Friday, December 31, Saturday, January 1 and Sunday, January 2. We'll see everyone back here Monday, January 3.

TRIVIA QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Originally, parents hung Animal Crackers boxes from Christmas trees as ornamental presents. Can you name the 17 different animals found in Animal Crackers boxes?

ANSWER TO LAST WEEK'S QUESTION: David McConnell used to sell volumes of Shakespeare door-to-door. What well-known company was born from Mr. McConnell's bookselling job? When the complimentary vial of perfume he gave to each housewife proved more popular than the books, a cosmetics company was born --- AVON. The name "Avon" comes from Stratford-on-Avon since it was Shakespeare this company founder first sold.
