The Centennial Quilt created by various Mammoth Lakes community members in 1976 and commemorating the (almost) first one hundred years of the history of our community is now on permanent display at the Mammoth Lakes Branch Library!

The larger-than-king-size quilt will be displayed six blocks at a time. There is also a photo of the entire quilt on the wall. Each of the blocks uses different quilting/sewing techniques, and many have been made by persons directly involved with the history depicted in that block.  A photo of each block, along with the original 1976 description of each block and maker, can be seen here.

Come by the MLFOL Room (Adult Fiction) on the second floor of the library to see this work of art and history.

And, special thanks to EL Smoogen who crafted the beautiful display case for us.
