Located on Crowley Lake Drive between the Long Valley Fire Station and the county park is Crowley Lake Library, Mono County’s newest. Opened in the spring of 2004 with the help of community volunteers, the Crowley Lake Library has continued to grow and improve. The library serves southern Mono communities from Long Valley to Swall Meadows, along with visitors to the beautiful Eastern Sierra.

Housed in the old Community Center the library now boosts free high speed internet, free WI-FI, and free use of computers including a children’s computer. The library participates in many county, state and national literacy events, such as the Summer Reading Program, Children’s Story Hour, California Reads and the Big Read. The library also hosts displays by local artists, and opportunities to meet local authors.

One aspect that sets the Crowley Lake Library apart is the Felkel Regional Collection

Named for local resident, and library volunteer, Dick Felkel, this collection features the largest collection of regional books and materials in the area. Whether your interest lays in back country exploring, fishing, hiking, winter sports, or the history of the Great Basin and the Sierra Nevada we have titles that are sure to excite your imagination.

Building the Felkel Regional Collection would not be possible without the hard work and financial support of volunteers like the Friends of the Library.
